From the moment that Kyle DeHaven stepped out onto the practice field to try out for the LFL’s Baltimore Charm, it was obvious that she was a superstar in the making. It would only be a matter of time before the rest of the league found out what a gem the Charm had and how good should could possibly be in this league.
Well find out they did, as DeHaven amazed on both offense and defense and despite Baltimore not making the post season, her skills were so evident that she was just named the LFL’s Most Valuable Player. The award was presented to Kyle by none other than the Commissioner & Founder himself, Mitchell Mortaza, at the annual awards dinner this past Saturday night in advance of the Lingerie Bowl, won by the Los Angeles Temptation over the Philadelphia Passion by the exact score that was predicted by this writer, 28-6.
Back to DeHaven, who played professional basketball in Europe before returning to the states and wondering what sport she was going to challenge herself to. Growing up in a big family with brothers who played football and basketball, she always had tough competition, so the transition to a sport she really hadn’t played before was smooth and relatively easy, except for learning all the nuances and intricacies of the game itself.
With her speed, natural physical ability and toughness, Charm head coach Rick Reeder instantly put her at wide receiver, which paid off in huge dividends on the Charm’s first play from scrimmage when she hauled in a halfback option pass from teammate Morgan Spencer for a long touchdown that temporarily stunned ultimate winner Orlando Fantasy.
DeHaven also excelled on defense, leading the Charm to the #1 ranked passing defense in the LFL and leading her team in virtually every category on both offense and defense other than passing. Scoring seven touchdown’s, she terrorized opponents catching passes or making crazy cutback runs for huge chunks of yardage. Defensively, she roamed the middle of the field at linebacker, nabbing two interceptions and tow fumble recoveries as well.
Overall, she was an absolute menace to the rest of the league who knew that if you played the Charm, shutting down DeHaven was the key to beating Baltimore. The Charm finished their second LFL season 2-2, missing out on the playoffs, but scoring the most points on the Philadelphia Passion that any team did all season, while holding them to their fewest points, prior to this weekend’s Lingerie Bowl.
Kyle beat out the Passion’s Marirose Roach, who was named the LFL’s Offensive Player of the Year and Tampa Bay Breeze’s Liz Gorman, who was named the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.

In balancing the recently completed year MNBL today comes the announcement of the best players throughout the competition. After the editorial was the winner of the vote Novy Jicin pivotman Kenneth Walker. The 206 cm tall American from the beginning of the competition held at the forefront of several statistical tables, and usefulness of the table in the vast majority of the competition lead. Finally finished second, mainly due to less lead out finals series that came out to the liking Geofin. Overall, however, Walker served consistently high performance, and belonged to the Novy Jičín driving forces, as well as the stars of the competition.
Kenny Walker was only the second most valuable player, but also 14.nejlepším scorer, 4.nejúspěšnějším overall balance in the shooting, the third most successful smečařem, doskakujícím seventh best player, the fifth best doskakujícím in the attack, 17 obtained in the balls, 10 obtained in fouls and also blocking the third best player. A review of its statistical position is obvious that this is a complete player who is able to efficiently and effectively at times work under the baskets. Kenny in a number of matches in the introduction of competition in particular benefited from the very good cooperation with Manny Ubillou which had polished to perfection pick'n'roll action. Opponents, however, this time focused interplay of logical and Kenny have had to seek other ways to get ahead. And we can say that he largely succeeded.
Teams that against Novy Jicin picked up in the competition had to be careful especially on Walker's athletic skills, as proved by the tall great jump and long arms not only well doskakovat and dunk, but on the other hand, opponents often blocked shots. Just 17 times out of 48 duels Walker reached on a valuable double-double in points and doskocích, most recently in the decisive semi-final against Decin. As already mentioned, it just did not work out according to the final images, in 4 games against the best defense of the competition only 1 scored more than 10 points, his best nine rebounds then.
Kenny Walker soon after the season with New Jičín agreed to extend the contract for another year, so it is clear that his services in the North Moravian town to consider. For himself is engaged in a team silver medalists so far the longest in his career, except to stay at the University of Alabama. How he will fare in the following year, during which Kenny třicátiny celebrate, it is still in the air. Novy Jicin would certainly would like to see this nice tall again ranked among the stars MNBL and helped tighten their team to the next medal. Editors Probasketu Walker MVP title to congratulate him and can only wish that his game next season, basketball fans entertained not only Novy Jicin.
