LaQuavious Cotton, a 6-foot-6 guard on the men's basketball team, has been named the GoStatesmen.com Male Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Sunday, Dec. 21. The Cleveland, Mississippi native helped lead the Statesmen to a 72-69 overtime victory against West Florida on Saturday, Dec. 20 after tying his career-high with 18 points and five rebounds. Cotton finished 4-of-6 from the field, but proved a major force in the game at the free throw line, nailing 9-of-9 in the decisive second half and overtime.
