Walter Mientka died in Lincoln, Nebraska on 01 June 2014. He was one of the 20 people who attended the first meeting of WFNMC in Adelaide during ICME-5 in 1984 and was a founding Vice President. He was also for several years Secretary of the IMO Advisory Board and was organiser of the 2000 IMO in Washington. His obituary, published in the Lincoln Star Newspaper, can be found here.
