The 2012 AMC

The 2012 AMC, the 35th AMC, was held on Thursday 02 August. Medals are announced below.

The Australian medals were presented by the Hon Marilyn Warren AC, Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria, at Government House, Melbourne, on Friday 09 November 2012.

Students are shown as a group with the Lieutenant-Governor.

Philippines

Philippine medals were presented at the Bayview Hotel in Manila on Wednesday 17 October 2012.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong medals were presented in the Senate Room of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University on Saturday 20 October 2012.

Indonesia

Indonesia medals were presented at Klub Kelapa Gading, Jakarta on Monday 22 October 2012, in a function organised by the Mathematics Education Clinic (MEC).

From left Mr Ridwan Saputra (MEC), Bivan Alzacky Harmanto, Francisca Susan Gozali, Professor Taylor, Agasha Kareef Ratam, Timothy Jacob Wahyudi, and Mr JJ Herjaya (MEC).

Susan won a Bronze medal in this year's IMO and it is her third AMC medal. Bivan won an Honourable Mention at this year's IMO. Henry Jayakusuma was absent, but this is his second AMC medal.

Singapore

Singapore medals were presented at the Novotel Hotel, Singapore on Wednesday 24 October 2012, by Australia's Consul General, Mr Lyall Crawford.

From left Professor Taylor, Wang Weiduo, Yang Gan, Gao Yuan, Bernard Teo Zhi Yi, Eugene Lee, Jonathan Ang Yun Hao, Lim Jeck and Mr Crawford.

Lim Jeck was the only perfect scorer in this year's International Mathematical Olympiad, while Bernard Teo Zhi Yi was one of only two perfect scorers in this year's AMC.

Malaysia

Malaysia medals were presented at New Era College, Kajang, on Sunday 28 October 2012.

From left Malaysian National Director Dr Lim Chong Keang, How Si Wei, Khong Yi Kye, Theam Wing Chun, Professor Taylor.

For Yi Kye it was his fourth medal in four attempts. For Si Wei it was his third medal. He has also won a Silver and two Bronze IMO Medals.

New Zealand

New Zealand medals were presented at Parliament House, Wellington, on Thursday 01 November 2012 by Minister of Education, Hon Hekia Parata.
