The 1995 AMC

A record number of 540,613 students from 3,448 schools entered the 1995 AMC, held on Tuesday 1 August.

Results are given below. There are 13 perfect scores, 7 from Singapore, 4 from Australia, 1 from New Zealand and 1 from Bulgaria.

Medals were presented to successful Australian and New Zealand students at a function held in the Westpac Gallery of the Victoria Arts Centre, St Kilda Road, Melbourne, on Friday 27 October. Presentations were made by ABC Science commentator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki.

The Singapore presentation was held at the Australian High Commission on Wednesday 1 November with Australian High Commissioner His Excellency Mr Ted Delofski as Guest of Honour.

The Malaysian medal was presented by Associate Professor Peter Taylor at a function at the Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur, on Thursday 2 November.

The Philippine medal was presented at a function at the Philippine Village Hotel on Friday 3 November. The function was held despite Super-Typhoon Angela, which prevented Peter Taylor from arriving as scheduled.
