Upgrade of plc, and tidying of control panels

The system comprised three wall mounted control panels mounted next to each other. The left hand panel contained a number of interface relays, the central panel contained a Siemens S5 plc, and the right hand panel contained a number of interface terminals.

PJC Systems were contracted to upgrade the Siemens S5 plc to a Siemens S7 plc, to document the external wiring connections, and to tidy up the marshalling panels.

and the next three show the same panels "after".

The site modifications were carried out during a week's shutdown, and did not cause any delay to the restart of the system.

Alongside these modifications, PJC Systems also installed an hmi panel to replace an existing panel, containing a number of lamps and pushbuttons, and brought on stream a section of plant which had not previously been commissioned.
