Retake Policy

In the 6^th grade mathematics department we realize that not all students reach mastery at the same time. For this reason we allow students to retake assessments that are designed to encourage academic growth.

· Assessments that can be retaken are:

o Quizzes* (Target Practices)

§ *Please note that students must reflect about their learning BEFORE they retake Quiz.

o Retaking Quizzes are restricted to the window of time that the class as a whole is working on the unit.

· Assessments that cannot be retaken:

o Unit Test (Celebrations of Learning)

Unit tests (Celebrations of Learning) are designed to assess a student’s cumulative knowledge gained after many chances to practice and learn the content.
