Policy ~ Fences

MAIN FENCING POLICY

{Approved at COM Meeting 31 March 2009}

There are three quality standards for fence construction:

  • Brick (Highest)

  • Brush (Medium)

  • Paling (Lowest)

An owner may apply to 'upgrade' their fence but not 'downgrade' it unless there are exceptional extenuating circumstances.

For a Paling Fence Visible from a Road:

  • Construction – paling timber fence with maximum height of 2.0 meters height.

  • Trellis – no trellis extending above the top of the fence.

  • Colour – painted Wilderness (green).

The PDF document below provides details of the main fencing policy.

ALTERNATIVE BRUSH FENCING POLICY

{Issued by COM on 18 Nov 2013, updated by COM 12 Sep 2019}

The alternative fencing policy provides an exception to the above main fencing policy. Under specific circumstances, and following Committee approval, it allows a brush fence to be replaced with a special paling fence. The alternative brush fencing policy was developed following the 2012 AGM where the Owners Corporation agreed to the Committee developing a Policy to act as a guideline for the installation of a wooden fence as an alternative to the existing brush feature fence.

The PDF document below details the specifications of the alternative fence. Note the colour of the special paling fence is Woodland Grey, not Wilderness.
