2 TYPES OF VERBS
SIMPLE PAST USING OTHER VERBS
Note:1st column: get/ 2nd column got
(Look the verb in the first column it is in infinitive, then write the verb written in the 2nd column that it is in the past)
Example:
Note: We only use the verb with "ed/d/ied/yed" in affirmative form
In negative forms and questions use the verb in infinitive, we use the auxiliary verb instead (Did in questions and answers and didn't in negative forms)
Example: (+) She arrived late (-) She didn't arrive late (?) Did she arrive late?
Yes, she did/No, she didn't
Irregular verbs
Rule for the verb usage:
General rule: use the verb infinitive + ed:
Example:walk(caminar) ed= walked=caminó
Regular verbs: affirmative, negative and interrogative structure
We are going to use 1° and 2° column only!
swim=nadar swam=nadó
teach=enseñar taught= enseñó
Negative forms: SUBJECT + DIDN'T + VERB INFINTIVE + COMPLEMET
WE DIDN'T SWIM IN THE LAGOON
SHE DIDN'T TEACH ME MATHEMATICS
EXAMPLES:
En la segunda, no tengo la informacion por eso utilizo las palabras interrogativas:What/what time/when/where/who/how old/how much/how many/Why etc y respondo con una oracion completa, es decir siguiendo la estructura de las oraciones en afirmativo.
La diferencia entre una pregunta y la otra es que en la primera, solo respondo por si o por o, confirmo informacion o la niego.
WH QUESTIONS
WH-word+ subject verb infinitive + complement?
Answer giving the information you are asked
Subject + verb in the past + complement
Example:
Where did you go yesterday?
I went to visit my grandmother

2 TYPES OF QUESTIONS:
YES NO QUESTIONS: Did + subject + verb infinitiv+ complement?
Answer: Yes, pronoun did/No, pronoun didn't
Examle:
Did you go to the cinema yesterday? No, I didn't
Did you stay at home? Yes, I did
