TEAM NOTES
Check Hotel lobby for a message board or my room door for team messages or info.
I will go on a shopping run with 2 or 3 team members to secure race day food stuffs either after Thurday's team dinner, or after Friday's AM practice. The event provides buffet lunch on both Saturday and Sunday.
SOS races: Saturday = race #7 @ 9:36, race#18 /2 12:48; Sunday = ??, ??

SCHEDULE - Schedule of events
23 Thur
6:50 UA#219L (EWR to Chicago@8:20) / 9:20 UA#1190 (Chi to Sarasota) - arrive 1PM (19=Ann, Caye, DawnMarie, Debbie, Fran, Ingrid, Jacqui, Josie, Karen, Kelly, Lily, Lois, Maria, Michele, Pam, Peggy, Sally, Theresa, Val). Linda leaves EWR 4:30PM.
4PM practice / Meet 3PM at hotel lobby for carpool to race site. WEAR BLACK Team SOS shirt for practice. (black shirts needed by: Anne, Caye, Henrietta, Ingrid, Kelly, Maria, Sally, Val). Linda, Henrietta will miss this practice. Car pool vehicles: Pam (van), Michele (SUV), Trudie (car), Ellen/Danny (full size flat bed!) EVERYONE expected to attend (except Linda, Henrietta)
7PM Team Dinner (free) - site: Bearded Clam. http://www.thebeardedclamsarasota.com/. It's 2.5 miles (5 minutes) from the hotel. It's close enough to make a few loops with the van. Reservation confirmed for 27 people. We will be eating inside.
24 Fri
7:30AM - 1st team meeting at team tent. ANYONE who expects to paddle in 1st Saturday race must attend this meeting. This includes anyone housed at off site locations.
7:00AM - Shuttle bus (#s 36) departs hotel for practice
8:30AM-11AM - 2 team reps to attend IBCPC Congress Meeting (Hyatt Regency, 1000 Blvd of the Arts, Sarasota). Val and Peggy will attend.
9AM practice. Wear White SOS (or any white Tee) for practice. No shuttle bus scheduled to return to hotel until 7:50PM - therefore team will coordinate a carpool return to hotel and then back to race site in time for opening ceremonies.
3:15PM - Captain/steerer meeting (Michele, Lily, Caye, Ellen) @ ???
5PM-6:30PM - opening ceremonies on Regatta Island (wear event shirt for aerial photo), appetizers provided
6:30-7:30PM - event organized wine and cheese mixer
7:50PM - our shuttle bus leaves AREA C for hotel
25 Sat
7AM - Our shuttle bus (#s 36, 37, 38) departs hotel to race site
Team Meeting = @ 7:30AM at team tent
1st team race = 9:36, lunch=10:54-noon, 2nd race = 12:48PM (all races = 8AM-2:30PM)
3PM our bus leaves race site AREA C to hotel. We may coordinate a team carpool to take folks back to hotel earlier if desired.
4:45PM our shuttle bus leaves hotel for Parade.
6:30-7PM Parade of Nations @ Lakewood ranch - We will figure out at 1st team meeting what to wear. I think we will be walking down Main street towards a strip mall. Here's the Google street view.
7-10PM - Paddlers block party at Lakewood Ranch Main Street Loop, appetizers & entertainment provided (many restaurants in area). It would be tough to have a team dinner here. so all are suggested to eat out on small groups.
9:50PM our bus leaves Lakewood Ranch Main Street area for return to team hotel. If members want to head back early, we will position several team vehicles nearby to shuttle members back to hotel before 10PM.
All team members need to check team message board to confirm Sunday AM departure.

7AM, 8:30AM - shuttle buses departs hotel to race site
Team Meeting = 90 minutes before 1st race at team tent (race schedule posted in hotel lobby by Saturday evening 11PM. AND I will POST on twitter)
8:30AM-3:30: 2 - 500 Semis and Final races (tail held starts)
3:45-4PM - Sandy Smith Global Race - includes at least 1 member from each teams
4-4:15PM - BCS flower ceremony is the last event on the water with all the SSGR racing teams.
4:30-5:30PM - Closing ceremony w/Dr Don McKenzie
5PM our bus leaves race site AREA C to hotel.
