Trip information for NJ Dragonboat team members planning to attend the Hartford Dragon Boat Races (860-713-3131x22) held at Riverfront Plaza and hosted by Riverfront Recapture on the Connecticut River - Contact (Charles Meyer). Run by the Riverfront Recapture committee as part of their continuing efforts to revitalize the area water activities while raising funds for the Nutmeg State Games and Riverfront Recapture. Entertainment, asian food, asian beer, martial arts, cultural activities, and ethnic dance scheduled thru weekend. If you want to register to race with us, complete our online registration form . We welcome paddlers of all skills and ability to join us in these treks...and from any team! We enjoy the company!

Misc Info

  • Nicely organized venue, with enthusiastic locals, lots of good viewing spots, though course just a little far from the spectators, entry a bit pricey, crappy GWN paddles, nice BUK boats, 2 day, downstream 200m and 500m course, medals awarded to top 3 finishers in each bracket, prize money for top 3 finishers in sport division.

    • Mixed event - crews must have at least 8 gals paddling

    • We always seem to manage to have a nice time here, along with lots of races...and yeah, we seem to compete well here too taking home medals each year and then to the casinos for a hearty buffet dinner!!!

    • Past event sponsors included: Manchester Savings, Aeltus Investments, Advest Investments and Mullane Enterprises.
