Ecma International

Ecma International began as the European Computer Manufacturers Association. In 1994, its name was changed to Ecma International to reflect a global mission. Ecma International participates in the ISO standardization process.

The most noteworthy Ecma International standard is ECMAScript. JavaScript, JScript, and ActionScript are dialects of ECMAScript.
