Notice that when Hanna shows that all of her tilings will cover the plane, she chooses a region that will tile the plane with an order 1 tiling. The tile that creates this order 1 tiling is called a fundamental region. For the first 4 tilings, the fundamental region is made up of polygons from the regular tiling. In the last four the order 1 tiling is superposed on the semiregular tiling. The semiregular tiling can be seen as a pattern on the order 1 tiling. See if you can find other fundamental regions for the 8 semi-regular tilings that Hanna has listed here, superimposed fundamental regions for the first four and fundamental regions made up of polygons from the semi-regular tilings for the last 4.
