In early 2020, Montebello's entrance was upgraded with new landscaping outside the front gate.
In October 2020, Montebello was awarded the 2020 Mary Thonen Beautification Award by the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation.
In early 2023 new plantings were installed on the hillside facing residents and visitors as they come through the gate.
