Building 5 Relandscaping 

The landscaping in front of Building 5 (the "townhomes" at 5900 Mount Eagle Drive) has been largely unchanged since it was first installed in the 1980s.  It contains many invasive plants, such as English Ivy, and plants that are beyond their useful life.  It has needed significant aesthetic improvement to match the levels elsewhere at Montebello. The Grounds Committee, in partnership with the Building 5 residents, has worked together with a local landscape architect to come up with an extensive design plan to improve the aesthetic appearance of the building for residents and guests. The new design includes almost 1700 new plants and a few trees, so it will be a major transformation of that area. Irrigation already exists in the front and rear of the building.

The relandscaping project was approved by the Board of Directors April 28, 2026.  Installation is expected to be complete in 2026.
