Molineaux Webb Catalogue - Centre Stands and Comports

The items here probably date to circa 1855 - 1862.

The registered Greek Key set (not shown) was numbered 25. It is unknown how many new designs were made each year, but we have examples here of sets 16,17 and 20.

With cut glass sets, specific centre pieces were made, similar to a jumbo sized comport. With pressed glass sets, which was tableware on the cheap, sometimes the pieces were balanced on top of each other in order to create a centre stand, as seen in the pattern 20 / 508 combo seen below, where a celery vase is placed upside down and a bowl placed on top.
