Description

Railway carriage lamp

A flowery design on a lamp. This is far more ornate than the carriage lamps issued by Molineaux & Webb and Percival & Vickers in the 1870s to 1880s, which were little more than oil pots. By the turn of the century electricity was becoming the principal form of lighting, so this lamp probably took an electric light.
