Comment
Three of the four patterns on this page describe items from the "Duchess" set which was advertised in the Pottery Gazette in 1883. The surviving advert shows the objects sketched in 370619 (basin) and 375281 (dish) but not 370618 (cream jug).

Description
Cream jug
This is a different shape to the cream jugs of previous years with a squatter, more rectangular look. The handle is rectangular and the body is patterned as squares, which have alternating geometric shapes of the Duchess pattern. The top edge of the jug has elongated half ovoid shapes. The base has a star pattern.

This basin or sugar bowl has a star pattern on the base and a concave stem. The main body of the bowl bears the same geometric pattern as 370618 - Duchess pattern.

Description
Pickle dish
This dish has deeper sides than some of the earlier ones. The dish has a star base. The external side of the dish is decorated with two alternating patterns - one is diamonds and the other is largely blank except for a thin row of vertical diamonds.
