Stats

This site was created in 2009 - I am working on updating this to 2020 game play with the 130 level cap.

The Stats:

Will: Every song, ballad, anthem, ect. requires power to use. How much power you have is based upon your will.

Vitality: Gives you higher morale, which helps you keep up longer if things get out of hand.

Fate: At later levels, in-combat power and morale regeneration becomes critical. Fate helps.

Might: Melee damage, evades, and parries are based on might. If you plan on soloing most of the time I would suggest a good balance between Vitality, Will and Might. If fellowships are your thing you'll want to focus on will, or even Vitality.

The recommended stats for a minstrel are: Fate first, Will second, Vitality third, Might fourth and Agility last. "Why" you ask?

Fate increases your IN-combat power and morale regeneration, refilling your power and morale over time while in-combat. The higher it is, the more you regenerate. Fate also increases the chance and magnitude of Criticals on Tactical skills. (Meaning, if you crit, your heal is much larger.)

Will increases your amount of power and also increases your out-of-combat regeneration so you can refill quickly in between a fight. You will find that you need this in some fights.

Vitality increases your amount of morale you have and also increases your out-of-combat morale regeneration.

Agility increases your ability to evade and parry incoming blows. (Which you’ll need if you are getting attacked due to your healing aggro.) Adds to the amount of ranged damage you deal, and increases your chance to critically hit a foe with common damage. It also improves your hit chance. ( This doesn't affect Tactical skills though, which is most of the minstrels abilities.)

Might increases your ability to block incoming attacks with a shield, parry incoming blows, or cause greater damage with a weapon. It also reduces incoming common damage. (This is very nice when you are getting hit, you won’t die as quickly.)

Each person plays a minstrel differently. Some focus more on Vitality above Will because they want more Health over Power. It's up to you which to focus more on, but I suggest a good balance of both.
