Mr & Mrs Hardy have a lodger – it’s Stan and there has been some confusion over his rent which Mrs Hardy is yet to see. James Finlayson arrives to collect a payment on the furniture and eventually leaves with the cash Stan had originally given Ollie for his rent. This leads Stan to suggest a money saving plan to Ollie. Ollie agrees and somehow they end up using all the Hardy’s savings to buy a grandfather clock in an auction … can you spot it in the picture on the right?
