Stan’s wife looks after the family income – every last cent it would seem. But Stan has a secret hiding place and adds a few more dollars to his accumulated cache. Of course his wife finds out and Stan is

Having annoyed a policeman, hobos Stan and Ollie decide to hide out in a conveniently empty mansion. Ollie pretends to be the owner, Colonel Buckshot, with Stan covering as both the maid and butler when Lord Plumtree (accent on the ‘lum’) comes to rent the house. But then the real Colonel Buckshot returns ...
Ollie is readying himself for his wedding when Stan arrives with a present – a jigsaw puzzle that will give Ollie something to do when he’s married and has to stay in nights. Waiting for the car to take them to the ceremony, Stan starts to work on the puzzle. Ollie, the driver and a cop all join in and finishing becomes an obsession – and ultimately a missing piece must be found.
Tonight we’ll be showing the L&H extract from Hollywood Party (1934) with Stan and Ollie’s egg-breaking encounter with Lupe Vélez.
