Choice of any Fancy Dress was wide open and the winner described his outfit by perfectly describing The Laurel-Hardy Murder Case while dressed in a ghost sheet complete with bat.
Judge James Finlayson sentences the Tipton Slasher to hang. The Boys are the detectives hired to protect the judge when the Slasher escapes vowing revenge ...
Little Stanley and Oliver are the image of their fathers, Stan and Ollie. The adult Boys are looking after the children while the wives are out and the little ones’ noisy mischief earns them an early bedtime. Getting ready for bed includes a nickel for the first one in his pyjamas, a lullaby sung by Ollie and then that final glass of water…
The Boys arrive in Scotland seeking an inheritance from the McLaurel estate. They inadvertently enlist in a Highland regiment and are posted abroad where they soon prove to be a major annoyance to Sergeant Finlayson, not least when he observes them enjoying their litter picking duties while dancing to a bagpipe tune.
The cost of the evening was £3 for members (£4 for non-members - including lifetime
membership to the Men o' War Tent) and £2 for under age 16 years.
The usual tea/coffee/soft drinks and biscuits were provided for the break.
