Travis Hunt

Travis Hunt played at tackle for the Albertville Aggies from 1947-1948, serving as team captain and earning All-County honors in 1948.

He played tackle from 1949-52 for the University of Alabama where he was co-captain of the team in 1952 and second team All-Southeastern Conference. Captain Hunt led the Crimson Tide against the Syracuse Orangemen in the 1953 Orange Bowl, the biggest bowl win ever for the Tide (Bama 61, Syracuse 6). Other memorable events from his Crimson Tide career include the first SEC game televised at Legion Field against Tennessee in 1951 and the last Alabama team to travel by train in 1950 to Knoxville, Tennessee.

Travis Hunt coached at Southside High School in Gadsden in 1956. For 31 1/2 years, he worked in management with Goodyear and served annually on the United Way and has been active in the Gadsden Quarterback Club. Hunt currently is retired and living in Boaz, participating in church and civic affairs.
