Having created a Pourpoint version out of a bedsheet, now I move the real stuff.
I need to cut the cloth an inch wider than the pattern, because I'm quilting, and the one inch should provide for compression caused by the quilting.
1-Lay out patterns on Linen. Do the same on Quilting
2-Cut out linen
3- Cut out quilting.
Now that I have the pieces cut out, I can do some quilting.
1- Front Section: Layer the lining, the quilting, and the outer fabric.
2- After quilting all the body pieces, start sewing them together
3- Sew buttonholes
4- Finished quilted body
Sew quilting lines every 1.5 inches
Sew the Back-bottom to the Back-Top
Now, sew the side gore to one front side. Then sew the back to the side gore.
After creating the buttonholes, cut the center of the holes. I learned from a sewing expert that you slip a pin at the end of the buttonhole line to help keep you from cutting too far.
The finished version is larger than the draft version. I'll need to do some tailoring to make it fit better.
Next, work on the Arms
1-Sew the small gore between the arm slit. Attach the arm side gore and the arm side piece
2- Attach the arm bottom.
(More work needed, but I retired and moved, so this project has been on hold)
