1874 June 21: A church youth organization called YMMIA (Young Mens Mutual Improvement Association) is formed in Tooele. AJ was the assistant secretary.

1877 Begins visiting Nevada

Oct 26: At a special session of the county court, AJ was appointed to succeed John W Tate as County Clerk.

Nov 6: At the 41st quarterly Conference of the Tooele LDS Stake held in Tooele, AJ was chosen and sustained as an alternate member of the High Council. He was ordained a High Priest and set apart the same day.

Bob Kimbers grandfather Kimber Autobiography says that one Christmas AJ wanted to be with his wife and children in Tooele. But he didn't have a saddle, so he jumped on the back of a greymare and rode it all the way to Tooele bareback.
