1. Applications for Observation passed out to all club members
2. Discussed requirements for majority of pre-health majors
a. Specific courses needed for each health division
b. Shadowing hours required
c. Entrance Exams
d. Talked about the importance of having a passion that is outside of medicine
3. Upcoming Trips Discussed
a. UC Davis – Sacramento - Oct. 14th - $30 per person
i. Would need an additional driver – school van only fits 11
b. Cal State – San Bernardino – January 27th - $15 per person

c. Roseman Trip – Briefly Discussed
4. Fundraising Ideas
a. Bake sale, car wash, silent auction, donations, local businesses
b. Several club members agreed to ask businesses they know to donate for silent auction
c. Sandwich boards going up in front of Physical Science Building and Life Science Building
d. Hurricane Harvey Relief
i. St. Mary’s Food Bank empty, also need hygiene products
ii. Discussed setting up donation booth from 9am-2pm on a Thursday in the near future

Follow-Up for next Official Meeting on 9/15/17
1. If Dr. Obermiller is present for a club trip but we do not take the school van, is it still an official club function? Will we still be reimbursed for gas, hotel, etc.?
2. Can Chris Sullivan come in to speak to club?
3. What other physician’s and in what fields do we want to come into the club to speak?
4. Have we decided which schools we would like to tour?
5. Did we decide if we want to tour Roseman?
6. Research Program - Specially made pants for children w/ special needs, any updates?
7. Is there a Nursing Club at MCC, or should we ask Nursing students to come to our pre-health club meetings?
