    • Forms are on the web at http://sites.google.com/site/mccpremed/ under resources.
    • The van can only take up to 11 passengers. Others may drive themselves if they like.
  • Guest speaker Jeff Rhodes will be discussing about Biology degrees, what the Polytechnic campus has to offer and how to go about transferring to Arizona State University. Think of any questions you may have that pertain to Mr. Rhodes.
  • Guest speaker, Dr. Zubriski will be doing a Q&A discussion about medical school, residency, and so forth.
  • Chris who is studying for the MCAT at the moment has the books if you would like to borrow.
  • Open meetings are up for suggestions--may also be a good time to participate in restaurant fundraising.
  • Fundraising/Recruitment-More money = more stuff = more people...get involved, get active!
    • Single persons can donate up to $200 and is tax deductible, formal forms can be filled out and turned in. Receipt will be mailed from MCC.
    • Small businesses do not have a limit on donations and can also be tax deductible. Large amounts such as $10,000 for instance, may want to suggest they speak with their accountant. These forms will be on the webpage as well.
    • Chris is a pharmacy technician with Walgreens and has discussed with his regional VP about an arrangement of potentially providing us with club shirts. This arrangement may involve a flu shot clinic on MCC campus and we could possibly receive $2 for every shot.
    • Entertainment books are on consignment meaning they give us 20 to sell, plus 2 free and 1 for display. We sell them for $30 technically with $5 for our club. We will receive 10% for the first 50 sold and 50% thereafter. 63=$500, 100=close to $1000. Will be available for the Fall Festival...so sell!
    • Restaurant Donation is where we pick a day and time to receive a percentage of the sales during the designated block. We advertise around so that people can go there on the right day and time. We need to start setting dates as soon as possible; this could be our biggest source of financial support for all the things we want to do.
    • Trash bag fundraising--we would have to pay up front so this may have to wait until we begin getting funds in.
    • Chris and Alexander mentioned making tri-fold brochures for recruitment. We can put these in any of our classes. Make sure when recruiting, we have the appropriate people who are serious about potentially joining the medical field. (i.e. P.A., N.D., M.D., and D.O.)
    • Next meeting is scheduled on September 6th, 2013 at 1:30pm in the LS108 classroom.
  • Meeting adjourned at 3pm by Chris Valentin, President of the MCC Pre-Medical Club.
