Basic Sugar Cookies
Ingredients
1 cup(s) sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
4 1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 1/2 cup(s) (3 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
Directions
1. In a bowl, add butter and sugar until fluffy;

3. Wrap in plastic wrap; chill until firm.

Bake until lightly golden around the edges, 10 minutes.
6. Let cool 5 minutes on sheets; transfer to racks to cool.

7. Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks, or freeze
