Oat Meal Cookies
Oatmeal
•All purpose flour 1 ¾ cups
•White sugar ½ cup
•Packed brown sugar 1 ¼ cup
•Eggs 2
•Unsalted Butter, softened (in microwave or in a saucepan), 1 cup
•Milk 2 tablespoons
•Baking soda 1 teaspoon
•Vanilla extracts 2 teaspoons
•Semi sweet chocolate chips 2cups
•Rolled oats 3 cups
•Salt ½ teaspoon (optional)
•Chopped walnuts 1 cup (optional)
1. Add both the sugars (brown and white) with the butter until a smooth mixture forms.
2. Add eggs, one by one. Then add the milk and the vanilla
3. Add all the dry ingredients – flour, baking soda and salt –to the sugar-butter mixture and blend well.
4. Add the chocolate chips, oatmeal, and walnuts
5. Roll up your dough in a sheet of plastic wrap. Keep this dough refrigerated for about 4 hours or until it becomes firm.
6. Cut the roll into your preferred shapes and place these on large baking sheets. Keep the cookie mixtures about 1 inch apart from each other
7. Bake for ten to twelve minutes or until the cookie is just the right texture. You will have to leave a little longer if you prefer a crispy texture.
8. Let cool in the tray for a minute or two and then shift to a cooling rack to cool completely before serving or storing. The cookies can be stored in any air tight container.
