Lee Davis continued his excellent form by winning the Worcestershire closed tournament with 4 out of 5 and becoming Worcestershire Champion. He is currently also the Herefordshire Champion. Brian Turner was tied for third with 3 out of 5 and became the Veteran Champion. Malvern were well represented as Michael Butcher and Ian Clarke also took part.
Lee Davis and Brian Turner also drew their second game of the final of the Bennett Cup and so an armageddon game was required. Lee managed to win this game with a second to spare and so wins the Bennett Cup for the second time in three years and the fourth time in total.

Lee Davis beat Ian Clarke in his final Club Championship game to finish tied first with Geoff Marchant on 6/8 just half a point ahead of Brian Turner.

Lee Davis beat Geoff Marchant in the Club Championship. Geoff has now finished his games and leads with 6. He is guaranteed to finish at least equal first. Lee Davis could pull level if he wins his final game.

Worcestershire lost 9.5-6.5 to a strong Devon side in the quarter final of the Minor Counties at Weston super Mare. Lee Davis and Ian Clarke both played with Lee earning a draw.

Leigh Canham beat Michael Chester and John Knee drew with Brian Turner in the Club Championship. Brian has finished his games undefeated and leads with 5.5 out of 8 but can still be caught by others.

Headlines from last season 2016-2017
The club had another good season last year, finishing a close third behind Olton but some way short of Halesowen in the County league and coming second in the Worcester and District League behind Worcester.
John Knee, Brian Turner, Ian Clarke, Lee Davis and Geoff Marchant all played for the Worcestershire Minor Counties team and a number of players supported the Ball and Bennett Cups.
Ian Clarke beat Brian Turner in the all Malvern final of the Bennett Cup and Matthew Jordan completed the double by beating ray Collett to claim the ball Cup.
Brian Turner won the Club Championship with an excellent 9.5/11 from Lee Davis and Geoff Marchant who tied second with 9.
Malvern were well represented in the Worcestershire Closed Congress. Lee Davis and Ian Clarke finished with 3.5/5, Matthew Jordan 3/5 and Michael Butcher 2/5. Lee won first prize for the best senior.
