Worcestershire Windmills, the newly formed 4NCL team, made their debut in Division 4 this weekend. They lost 4-2 to Eternal Optimists 1 on Saturday and then beat Guildford Young Guns 5.5-0.5 on Sunday. The team was mainly comprised of players from Redditch and Kidderminster. Malvern had a successful opening match in the Championship with a 3.5-1.5 win at home to Halesowen A. There were wins for James Allsopp, Henry Spedding and Ian Clarke. James and Henry both showed good control in their endings with the black pieces.

Malvern could only manage 1/4 in the second and final round of the Summer Cup played at Redditch and finished 5th out of 6 teams. James Allsopp and Lee Davis drew their games. Results.
There are currently 8 entries for the 2025/2026 Club Championship, so the tournament will probably continue to be an all-play-all. The closing date for entry is September 15th. The time limit will be 60+30.
Malvern were well represented at the closed Worcester County Championships congress with 5 players taking part. The younger players highlighted their continued improvement with James Allsopp and Joshua Clarke both scoring 3.5/5. Lee Davis and Ian Clarke scored 3/5 and Alex Nicholls scored 1/5. James won the Junior title for the second successive year.
Malvern scored 1.5/4 in the first round of the Summer Cup which was a creditable performance as all four Malvern players had the black pieces.
