Chemical Safety

Always wear goggles and an apron when handling chemicals.

• Read all labels carefully. Do not use a chemical from an unlabeled container.
• Never smell any chemical directly from its container. Waft odors toward your nose rather than smelling the chemical directly.

• Keep all lids closed when chemicals are not in use.
• Dispose of all chemicals according to your teacher’s directions.
• Do not drink, eat, chew gum, or chew on pencils or pens in the lab.
• Wash hands with soap and water after completing an investigation.
