TYPES OF MUSCLES
There are three types of muscles that do work and interact with the other systems of the human body.
In the cardiovascular system, cardiac muscle fibers contract rhythmically to push blood through vessels to other parts of the body (ex: muscles in the heart).
Smooth muscle fibers contracts slowly to push food through the digestive system so it can be broken down and sent to other cells of the body (ex: peristalsis contractions in the digestive tract).
Skeletal muscle is attached to bones and are responsible for moving the body (ex: Bicep muscles in the arms).
