Chlorophyll

•In the leaf cells of plants, there are specialized organelles called chloroplasts. It is inside the chloroplasts that photosynthesis takes place.

Chlorophyll is a group of green pigments found in the chloroplast of cells.

Chlorophyll absorbs and captures light energy for use in photosynthesis.

•Chlorophyll can be other colors: Yellow, Orange, Red, Brown and sometimes changes colors in reduced amounts of sunlight; for example in autumn.
