I was stirred by this frank, poignant letter then shaken again by thoughts of the reckless perpetrators of this ghastly fiasco.

Dear John, having read most of the emails & believe that half the fund was invested as a second mortgage for a housing project that was over valued & hadn't taken off , [so why a second mortgage ?] ,and that out of the money clawed back so far only 1 million had been put into the fund , I have no hope of receiving any of my 20.000 back . I am 81 and at the speed so far & the little they have achieved I'll probably be dead or senile before that happens . It's the first time I've ever invested without a guarantiy,& only did it because I was given the impression that the investment went into projects like hospitals & schools , & if any one failed ,[& was told only one had in their history ] the project was taken over & became their collateral . Although my loss is not good news for me , I feel sorry for anyone who invested much larger sums & probably won't get any back . I wish you luck with your efforts.
Best wishes for Christmas
