High School Students

“Not only are the hills alive with the sound of music, but the school library media center at Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, New Jersey, is alive with the sound of reading. The media center has become a hub of reading because the school library media specialist has made the promotion of reading and reading-incentive activities an important priority for students and staff” (Moyer, 2011).

. . . . . . . . . . . . “ High school students do read, and books are still alive in the high school library media center” (Moyer, 2011).

I am attaching this article below, written by Mary Moyer, because it focuses on high school students, in particular. Making literature “come alive” isn’t just for elementary or middle school students. It is important to keep students interested in reading new literature, especially through the high school years.  This article discusses reading incentive programs for high school students. I think you’ll enjoy reading it as much as I did!
