If you are the last game at a field, take a picture of the completed score sheet and text it to me and include in the text the location and date. This needs to be done so the league can keep scores and standings up to date. (631-327-5647)
There may be some "friendly" games this upcoming weekend. They are only going to use 1 referee. If you have one of them, you collect $15 from each team. All other protocols are still in place, cards are to reported no scores are needed. They will be highlighted in blue on the schedule.
If you need your 2020 Futsal badge you can pick it up at a recertification event (no need to stay for the entire thing) or you can send a self addressed stamped to the SRA Joe Brosi. In the envelope include a note stating that you are requesting him to send you a futsal. His address is:

For a game using two referees, during a goal keeper's possession be it at a goal clearance or during dynamic play, one referee should be close to the goal area to monitor the four second count and watch what is happening in that half of the field. The other referee should be at the halfway line ready for a possible counter attack and to ensure that when the ball is put back in play, it does not cross over the halfway line on the fly.
When working with two referees in a game, both referees must keep a hand written record of the score. In case of a question from a coach, it is lot easier for John to tell the coach that both referees have confirmed the score as accurate. There is no reason not to do this - the argument I received from a referee was that it could slow the game down, which makes no sense to me as it should take the same amount of time for each referee to record the score as it does one referee. Even if does take more time before the restart whistle is blown, it is better to get it right. My opinion is that the trailing referee should blow the whistle for the restart, only after recording the score and visually checking that his/her partner is ready and has also recorded the score. At halftime, the two referees should confirm with each other what the score is and also relay this information to the coaches. In a one person system naturally there is no back-up for recording the score, so the official must take the necessary time to record the score without rushing before blowing the restart whistle. The referee should also let the coaches know what the halftime score is.
At the end of a match, please return the rosters to the team coaches unless needed. If the coach does not take back the roster, it can be disposed of. There is no need to keep them in the bins at each field.
