Week 2 was another good week. There are only a few things I need to mention:
1. No pass, no play. If a team doesn't show up with passes, there is no game but the team can use the gym up until 10 minutes before the next kick off.
2. Even though games are played on small basketball courts referees need to cover the entire touch line and move in order to get into the best position to make the proper calls. As much as Futsal is an intense metal game it is also physical and the referees must be able to move accordingly.
3. Just like the outdoor game, use stoppages in play to communicate with the referee you are working with. (ie. counting fouls)
4. Please keep your availability up to date. As any assignor for any league will tell you, reassigning games is a pain that most of the time can be avoided with a little due diligence. Plus, I have pretty much figured out the schedule for week 4 and am already well into working on week 5.
5. As previously emphasized on the front page, nobody may use outdoor soccer balls anywhere in the schools. It is a safety issue as well as a liability issue. It needs to be enforced by all referees.
Thanks and have a good third week!
