Dropping This Class Or Taking it Pass/Fail

Dropping

Students can remove themselves from YC courses by going to their portal page and selecting "My Registration (Add/Drop)" and then, following the on-screen instructions. Log-in to your portal page here. If a student plans on dropping this Spanish class, he/she must do so before Oct. 16th, 2011. If a student shows excessive absences he/she may be dropped from the course by the instructor at any time, but the instructor is not obligated to do so (in other words, don't count on the instructor dropping you, remove yourself from the class or you may face an "F" from the instructor who has not dropped you from the course). The policy adopted by the Liberal Arts division states that the instructor will not drop a student from the course, regardless of circumstances, after the student innitiated drop date, Oct. 16th, in this case.

Pass/Fail

A student must notify the instructor in writing that he/she wants to take the course with a "pass/fail" distinction. This notification must be made before the student innitiated withdrawal deadline, Oct. 16th. Please not that some universities place restrictions on the amount of, and the manner in which they will accept "pass/fail" credits. Be aware of this before taking a class as "pass/fail" and see your advisor with any questions.
