CON DE MAYO 2017 HOSTS TABLETOP GAMES THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE EVENT
Thomas B., Joshua F., Sam T., Jim R., Dustin C., and Jeffrey W. Host A Variety Of Tabletop Events
Of the 25 events being hosted at Con De Mayo 2017, 11 will be tabletop board and card games, a role playing game and a trading card game. Anytime you come into Con De Mayo 2017, there will be a tabletop event that you can participate in. These events will include:
10:00 AM
EVENT: Shogun (2006 Edition)
Start/End Time: 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Event Host: Thomas B.
Description: Each player assumes the role of a great Daimyo and through the use of 10 possible actions, builds his kingdom and gains points. Battle is resolved through throwing your army cubes into the top of a tower and checking the exit tray for results.

EVENT: Origins of World War II (1971)
Start/End Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM

Description: In this Avalon Hill bookcase game, take control of the powers of World War II in the 1930’s. Place influence in territories of Europe to obtain your objectives, and prevent the other players from gaining theirs.

EVENT: Attack On Titan Deck Builder
Start/End Time: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Event Host: Dustin C.
Description: The last human city is under attack by giant, fearsome Titans - and it's up to your team to stop them! Based on the action from the world-renown Attack on Titan anime and manga series, you and your fellow players must battle relentless Titans for humanity's very survival in this cooperative deck-building game. Collect the weapons and tactics you need, then test your mettle on the wall before it's too late! Play as Eren, Mikasa, Armin, and many others as you struggle to keep the Titans at bay!
EVENT: Monsters Menace America
Start/End Time: 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Event Host: Thomas B.
Description: Choose your monster and rampage across America. Gain health by destroying cities, gain infamy by annihilating popular landmarks like the World’s Biggest Ball of Twine, and mutate by visiting such sites as Area 51. At the end of the game, all the monsters face off for an epic winner takes all battle.

Description: In the Ancient World, civilizations are built upon 3 foundations: Commerce, Construction, and Expansion. As a leader of an ancient Mediterranean Power, each player will need to master all 3 roads to power in order to lead their civilization to dominance and victory.

Description: In Firefly: The Game – based on the Firefly television series – players captain their own Firefly-class transport ship, traveling the 'Verse with a handpicked crew of fighters, mechanics and other travelers. As a captain desperate for work, players are compelled to take on any job — so long as it pays. Double-dealing employers, heavy-handed Alliance patrols, and marauding Reavers are all in a day's work for a ship's captain at the edge of the 'Verse.

Description: In a slightly alternate future reality, America is under attack from enemy forces. Asians from the west, South Americans through Mexico, and Soviets swarm across the Atlantic. The only things that can save you are lazer armed satellites and partisan NRA groups popping up in the Rockies like daisies.

CENCON V TO HOST A VARIETY OF TABLETOP GAMES

It just isn't a game event without tabletop games. On top of our usual open gaming space for any board and card game, we have some featured events you won't want to miss:
Sean G. will be hosting two tabletop games at CENCON this year:
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne
Cosmic Encounters is Coming! The Iron Throne uses the Cosmic Encounters game system to spread influence over the great houses to control Westeros!
Tiny Epic Western
Poker meets worker-placement. Players must manage their resources to buy buildings and gunfight. If you have the highest stake in the most lucrative industry at the end, you will be rewarded bonus points. Add these points to the points you've collected from buying buildings and determine the winner! Yippie kay yay a!
Next up, we have Luke L., demoing his newest game
Energy Empire
Local Game Designers Luke Laurie and Tom Jolly's newly released Energy Empire is a worker-placement, resource-management, engine-building game. 1 - 5 players takes control of a nation vying for power in the second half of the 20th century. They build up their nation’s industry, commerce, and government by acquiring resources, building structures, and tapping new sources of energy. Players are trying to build the strongest and most efficient nation, while also minimizing how much damage they cause to the environment.
Jim R will be on hand to host the Dungeons and Dragons RPG
Dungeons And Dragons Fifth Edition
6 seats at the table. Pregenerated characters. Can you find the cure in time to save the town?
Finally, Brian K. will be here to host another of his typical games of the macabre:
Dead Of Winter
In Dead of Winter 2-5 players must work together to try and complete a goal as a community. Each olayer also has an individual goal. It could be Betrayal. So beware, Winning is based on completing both the individual and group goals.
Each player controls a team of survivors(2-5 as well) . Can we survive together?

HALLOWEEN HORROR GAMES DAY TO FEATURE EVENTS FROM LOCAL TABLETOP GAME ENTHUSIASTS
This Saturday, at Halloween Horror Games Day, Thomas B., Brian K., and Sean H. of Saturday Board Games in Santa Maria will be here running tabletop games for your tabletop gaming pleasure.
First, we have Thomas B. Thomas is a huge board game enthusiast that's been a friend of the shop for many years. He's a local educator, and frequently hosts board game nights at his home. He'll be here hosting Titan, a classic board game from the original Avalon Hill Game Company. He'll be running his game from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Next, we have Brian K. Brian has been hosting events at our Games Days on a regular basis for years. He usually hosts, and this event is no exception, a board game called Betrayal at House on the Hill from Hasbro, and a role playing game called Fiasco. He'll be hosting Betrayal at 2:00 PM, and will be running his RPG at 6:00 PM.
Finally, we have Sean G. Sean is a regular host of board and card games here at Leisure Time Games. Also, he has been building up his demo cred throughout the tabletop industry, volunteering his services for well known board game companies as an official representative. He is an AEG Vanguard, a Paizo Venture Lieutenant, and just recently became a Steve Jackson Games Men in Black member. This weekend, along with his usual giant stack of games, he'll be focusing on Chez Geek, by Steve Jackson Games at 4:00 PM, and at 6:00 PM he'll be switching his attention to another SJG Title, Munchkin Bites!

Saturday Board Games In Santa Maria To Meet Every Week At Leisure Time Games...Maybe
The Saturday Board Games in Santa Maria Meetup Group has been meeting at Leisure Time Games every other Saturday for some time now. The usual meet up time is around 10:00 AM, and runs until everyone calls it quits; some time in the early afternoon. They've been splitting meet ups between here, and The Willows in Nipomo.
Lately, there has been a discussion to run their events weekly here at Leisure Time Games instead of splitting the two locations. They've been tentatively hosting events on the usual every other weekend schedule, but have also been posting announcements of events for Leisure Time Games on the same day they are scheduled to host at The Willows.
If you enjoy playing board and card games, or know someone who does and are looking for a group, why not bring yourself, your friends, and a few games and meet here, every Saturday at 10:00 AM or so? We're happy to host you, and the Saturday Board Games in Santa Maria group is always looking for more players.
That's a win/win in my book

SUMMER GAMES DAY TO FEATURE EVENTS FROM LOCAL TABLETOP GAME ENTHUSIASTS
Fans Of Board Games To Host A Variety Of Games At This Year's Event
This Saturday, at our Sixteenth Annual Summer Games Day Game Day Event, we are happy to announce Sean H. of Board Games in Santa Maria, Daniel G., one of the hosts of the Board Games And Brew Podcast, and Brian K. will be here running events.
First, Sean G. Sean is a regular host of board and card games here at Leisure Time Games. Also, he has been building up his demo cred throughout the tabletop industry, volunteering his services for well known board game
companies as an official representative. He is an AEG Vanguard, a Paizo Venture Lieutenant, and just recently became a Steve Jackson Games Men in Black member. This weekend, along with his usual giant stack of games, he'll be focusing on Munchkin Oz, by Steve Jackson Games at 10:00 AM, and at 12:00 PM he'll be switching his attention to Istanbul from AEG.
Next, we have Daniel G. Dan's a huge board game enthusiast that's been a friend of the shop for many years. He and a few other folks host a podcast called Board Games and Brew. He's also an avid board game player as well as board game designer. He'll be here hosting events from noon until around 6:00 PM, and at 2:00 PM will be running a game of his own design, Treasure Mountain, that he will be running a Kickstarter campaign for real soon.
Finally, we have Brian K. Brian has been hosting events at our Games Days on a regular basis for years. He usually hosts, and this event is no exception, a role playing game called Fiasco, and a board game called Betrayal at House on the Hill from Hasbro. He'll be hosting Betrayal at 4:00 PM, and will be running his RPG at 6:00 PM.

SATURDAY BOARD GAMES IN SANTA MARIA GAME CLUB TO MEET EVERY OTHER WEEK
The Saturday Board Games club is a group of local tabletop game enthusiasts that meet either at Leisure Time Games every other Saturday, or The Willows Golf Course on the other Saturdays. Leisure Time Games, with the help of The Santa Maria Town Center Mall, has been making a room available for their use.
Sean G. one of the founding members of the group, is also an AEG Vanguard, and a Paizo Venture Lieutenant. These folks are volunteers for those respective companies, who are fans of their games and are dedicated to running demonstrations of their varied game products.
Other members include Luke L., Jeff C., and Tom J. These gentlemen are local game designers who have or are reaching varied levels of fame with games such as Wiz-War, Stones of Fate and other titles.
As of the writing of this article, the group is at The Willows. This means next week, May 16, they are slated to make an appearance at Leisure Time Games. They usually come by around 10:00 AM or so. Stop on in, play some games, make some friends and have a good time.

SATURDAY BOARD GAMES IN SANTA MARIA TO HOST GAMES AT THIS YEAR'S CON DE MAYO!!/FREE COMIC BOOK DAY GAMES DAY EVENT ON MAY 2
Members of the local board and card game enthusiasts club, Saturday Board Games in Santa Maria, will be at this year's Con de Mayo!!/Free Comic Book Day Games Day Event on May 2, in the Santa Maria Town Center Mall. They will be hosting a variety of board and card games, and we are all hoping you'll want to share in the fun.
Turn out for the last Games Day Event, Winter Games Day, which included a variety of board and card games, as well as miniature war games, and a group of video game enthusiasts, saw 100 participants. This total included around 20 players from the Santa Maria Board Games group. This year's Winter Games Day turned out to be the largest Winter Games Day Event to date, and this year's Con de Mayo!!/Free Comic Book Day Games Day Event is shaping up to be just as large and maybe even larger.
At least 2 of the members from the group, Sean G., the founder of the club, and Jeff C., the owner of Cosmic Wombat Games, will be here hosting a variety of games, as well as many of their other members.
Leisure Time Games is a local game and comic shop, located in The Santa Maria Town Center Mall. They sell a variety of games and gaming accessories, and also provide a place to play. They do what they can to create a positive atmosphere for social gathering via a hobby shared by millions throughout the world, table top gaming.
