We ran a reading activity from their book. First, we used a video to motivate and engage the students. Then we elicited information, asking them some pre-reading questions, to give a little context. Finally they read the text and completed the post-reading activities from the book.
What worked well?
Students were quieter than usual which made our intervention friendlier. They paid attention to the instructions and followed them.
What went wrong?
They were only quiet but not working, we had to go around the classroom to make sure they were doing the activities.
What would you change?
My attitude, I was a bit scared they wouln't listen to me so I might have been a little rough on them.
