When the second semester started I was quite anxious about my Practice V course. Every year is getting harder, but at the same time, we learn different techniques so that we can teach our students the best we can.
During Practice 5 I will be not only attending to an English class, but also the Counselling class which is totally new for me (from a teacher point of view).
Through this three years I have been doing my practices with a partner and this year is not the exception, so with my classmate Noemi Gaete we will be attending Escuela Adventista de Concepción.
In my case, I will be teaching English to a 7th grade, whereas the Counselling class we will be teaching together to a 5th grade.
The previous practices, have had a focus on the language, so I have more experience when it comes to teach English. While being in charge of an entire course as Head teacher or dealing with a Counselling class will be tough, so probably I will have to read and study more to present the OFT in an adequate way.
As Escuela Adventista has the mission of teaching Christian values, I should be an example for my students. so the dress code will be very specific for us, as pre-service teachers, which is not a problem for me, because I understand that is part of the rules from the school.
Certainly, during this practice there are a lot of new things that we need to learn and apply. However, I expect to learn a lot not only from my guide teacher of the university, but also from the school. Keeping in mind that every teacher has their own way of teaching a course.
