Traditional Hawaiian activities and food were provided for our Ka`a`awa fourth grade students and other fourth graders throughout the island. Thank you to Kualoa Ranch, Curt Okimoto, and Jennifer Luke-Payne for organizing the event.
Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program
Snacks will be disbursed twice a week just prior to afternoon recess. Fun and informative facts about each produce will be shared with the students at morning assembly on those days. Children will be encouraged to try the fruit or vegetable snack, but they may choose to not participate if they do not like or cannot eat the fruit or vegetable offered. Please encourage your children to participate in the snack, as this will show your support of healthy food choices and willingness for your child to try new foods. If you have any questions about this program, please contact Lenora Paulo, FFVP School Coordinator (808) 305-6660
Starting the week of February 6, 2017, Ka`a`awa Elementary School, will again be participating in the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) until the end of the 2016-2017 school year. This is a program to encourage students to enjoy the great taste and health benefits of eating plenty of fruits and veggies each day as part of a lower-fat, higher-fiber eating style.
