School Parking Reminder

All parents and visitors should park on the grass area near the basketball court. The marked-stalls and the entire gravel area are for the faculty parking. Mahalo!

A couple of new faces on campus! A big welcome to Mrs. Marie Sack and Mrs. Christina Connors. Mrs. Sack is our new PCNC and A+ Coordinator, and Mrs. Connors is our new 4th grade teacher. They both are looking forward to working with our students, parents, staff members, and principal to support and create a fun and safe learning environment.

New Playground

During this summer our school worked hard on constructing a brand new basketball court and playground for the students to enjoy. Our basketball court now has four basketball hoops of different heights to accommodate the younger and older students. The construction crew also installed a playground environment that is designed to promote safe physical activities. Students are encouraged to enjoy and take care of our new facilities so that they will last for many years to come. Remember to practice safe play at all times.

7 Habits School

By practicing these 7 habits on a daily basis the students will learn how to achieve individual success while contributing to the success of their peers and community. Our goal is to model these behaviors for our students and encourage parents to participate and support these 7 habits at home. More information about the 7 Habits School will be provided to our parents and guardians soon.

What is a 7 Habits School? This past summer the entire Kaaawa faculty, staff, and principal participated in 4-day intensive 7 Habits School training to learn how to implement the 7 Habits to promote a positive learning environment that fosters leadership skills for our students. The 7 habits are: 1) Be Proactive, 2) Begin With the End in Mind, 3) Put First Thing First, 4) Think Win-Win, 5) Seek First to Understand Then to Be Understood, 6) Synergize (work with others), 7) Sharpen The Saw (to take care of oneself physically, mentally, and spiritually).
