Bennett - Project Coordinator to Closeout Manager

Highland Creek Digester Rehabilitation

GE Booth/ Lakeview TOX 2 & 3 upgrade

RL Clark Mechanical Upgrades

Highland Creek Liquid Train Upgrades

In a stroke of luck, my last business trip for Hydro Gate, just before my Canadian paperwork went through, was to a adjust sluice gates at a Bennett construction site in Toronto. Using the contacts made on that trip I reached out shortly after relocating to Toronto and started my journey with Bennett Mechanical as a Project Coordinator working on a 2 year $21.7 million dollar project to install new flares and rehabilitate digesters at Highland Creek Treatment Plant.

As I learned more about the processes of the plant and installation of mechanical equipment I was able to take on more responsibility and grow into the role of Closeout Manager. Working with the Bennett project management team, I help transition active projects that have completed a substantial amount of their work to complete those last few details that need taking care of and any warranty issues that may come up in the 2 years after construction. Bennett also has given me the opportunity to assist the commissioning team, stepping in to start up, troubleshoot equipment, and teach the plant operators how to run it.

I have had the pleasure of working on the last few details of the TOX 2 & 3 upgrades at GE Booth ($2.2m), RL Clark Mechanical Upgrades ($25m), Beechwood Sewage Pumping Station ($18.6m), New Lynden Water System ($6.2m), Woodward Water Treatment Upgrades ($20m), and am currently working with the team at Highland Creek on the Liquid Train upgrades ($101.5m).

Learning about the water treatment process has been fascinating and having the opportunity to go places that very few people get to see has been a privilege. I feel like I am just scratching the surface of all of the different types of equipment that we install and love learning from the subject matter experts that we bring in to set up their company's equipment. Bringing mechanical sympathy for the whole system and knowing how new pieces affect the whole is an awesome part of this career.
