Call for Papers

The 39th Annual Conference of Japan Association of English Romanticism

Yasuda Women’s University, Hiroshima, Japan, 19-20 October 2013

We invite proposals for 20-minute papers on all aspects of English Romanticism. Papers should be in either Japanese or English.

Please send a 300-word proposal together with a brief C.V. in MS Word by e-mail to Prof. Goto, <mgotoh@fukuoka-edu.ac.jp> before the 29th June 2013. Notification of acceptance will be made within the first two weeks of July.

All those attending the conference must be members of the Japan Association of English Romanticism, the German Society for English Romanticism, the British Association for Romantic Studies, or the North American Society for the Study of Romanticism.

Overseas applicants who need more than a few months to obtain funding for travel, thus unable to attend the 39th conference in spite of acceptance, will be entitled to present their papers at the 40th conference (October 2014). Details for 2014 will be announced late 2013.

Joint GER-NASSR Conference, “Romanticism and Knowledge”, Munich, October 10-13, 2013, Hosted by Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich and the Internationales Begegnungszentrum der Wissenschaft (IBZ)

The 15th International Symposium of the Gesellschaft für englische Romantik (GER) will be a joint GER-NASSR conference, that is, our regular biennial conference will be, at the same time, a supernumerary NASSR conference. (The regular 2013 NASSR conference will be held in Boston, 8-11 August, 2013).
