Next ACJC will be on Monday June 5 at UNESP (third floor).
Alessandro Cuoco (RWTH Aachen) will be telling us about:
"Dark Matter Searches in the extra-galactic gamma-ray sky"
Abstract: The extragalactic gamma-ray sky (EGB) is a powerful probe of high-energy astrophysical phenomena in the universe, and might hold clues on the nature of the cosmological dark matter.
I will review the current knowledge of the EGB obtained after several years of observations with the Fermi-LAT observatory and introduce the different techniques employed to resolve the EGB into
different components, in particular spectral analyses, anisotropy analyses and correlation analyses.
I will then discuss the implications of these analyses for high-energy astrophysics and for dark matter searches in gamma rays.
