Overview:

This Term project is designed for you to test your practical skills and put all that you have learned so far in action. Your job is to solve the case that I am giving you. I want you to show me how you as an Auror with all your trianing so far would conduct the case and report back to headquarters. The project will consist of four different sections. Introduction/Hypothesis, Evidence, Description of crime. Actions

Case:

The headquarters have gotten information that their has been an attack on a small Muggle community near Surrey. There have been reports of someone in a black and dark cloak causing havoc on a corner street of Little Minglton where reports say that three muggles were held hostage for over an hour while another suspect fled the nearby house with unidentified objects. The three muggles were than killed and the suspects fled the scene leaving behind numerous dark objects and a thick black smoke that still havocs through the street. The muggle police authorities have asked us to step in and catch the dark wizards that caused this, the only evidence left behind of the dark wizard is a diary with two initals LV on it. Immediatley the auaor headqurters take upon this case and look for information into finding this dark wizard. Your job is now to help us solve this case. This is an open ended case so you have the opportunity to take it your own way and work with it. I am not looking for the same answer from everyone this is individual so you are responsible for coming up with a creative way of solving this case in how you would if you were in the shoes of an Auror.

Introduction/Hypothesis:

In this section you must tell me your hypothesis of the crime, giving the only information we have. Look back in your lessons when we talked about the different types of tools, ways in which aurors must conduct their research when solving cases. Your hypothesis must include who you think the dark wizard might be and what you are trying to solve, in other words why did they attack the muggle community.

Evidence:

In this section you must give the evidence in which was left behind at the scene, this section is the most important part of any case as it is what an auror works from in solving the case. Your evidence will most likley come once you have investigated the place and done your research. Remember that evidence is what you see and hear not what you believe may have happened.

Description of Crime:

This is where the biggest chunk of the project comes into place. This is where you will put together all your evidence and research to tell me what happened and what you've seen, heard and collected. The description should include the cases information as well as your own research.

Actions:

The last section of your project you will use all your evidence and information and what you've learned in this class and tell me what your actions were. What you did to handle the case, did you interview anyone? did you thoroughly inspect the area? what did you do with the evidence? did you capture the dark wizard(s). Was the crime solved or is it still open?

Grading:

The project will be graded based on how detailed the four different sections of your project are and your creativity.
