Now I have got all the morse key cables sorted through my Key/Rig selector box it's time to tackle the audio side of things!
Currently I have 6 transceivers and 2 scanners - all those volume controls are a bit too much and I would like a master control as well.
The main reason though is to just allow my headphones to be plugged into one socket - this would be brilliant. Another reason is to put a proper volume control on my IC-718 which, as you may know, has a very poor control that is either off for full on!
So the idea is to have a 8 channel mixer with separate volume controls for each channel and a master output volume control feeding a PA and headphone socket with a quality (cheap!) speaker.
That's the plan and all parts have been ordered today for the grand total of £20 (ex. tax and postage). I have all the discrete components to hand so it's only the pots, knobs, sockets and cases I needed.
Oh and I'll leave room for some of the inputs to have filters on them for comms and the others to be straight through for Hi-Fi radio etc. Although I doubt it will be Hi-Fi quality I will see what we can do!
