Even though I only have three keys and I can increasingly flustered that the key sockets on the riga are at the rear and if I want to use the kent twin paddle on the SS105 rather than the IC-718 I have to spend 5 minutes shifting everything to change the connections.
So the idea is to have a 4 input/output switch box for my keys with any key being able to be switched to any rig, but only one at a time which may turn out to be a limitation but I doubt it at the moment.
I was going to parallel up the connections on the key side but I can see some inadvertant keying on the one I'm not using taking place and if I paralleled up on the rig side I would have multiple rigs keying at the same time!!
So there will be a belts and braces approach - there will be a key selector switch and a rig selector switch so I select the key of choice and switch it to the rig of choice.
Four inputs should be enough as I have the Kent, Bencher, Palm and straight key and don't see me expanding the collection.
I suppose I could use a 2 pole 6 way switch and common the commons but I fear earth loops so I'll stick with the initial design for know and see how we go.
