Using my MFJ-902 has been a good learning experiance but is becoming a pain when I want to tune-up and be on the air quickly. My IC-718 is not permanently connected up so I need to be able to deploy quickly and make the most of those QSO times.
Also I don't have a permanent aerial up at present (the inverted L is in production!) so there is never a repeatable setting on the tuner as the aerials configurations change often.
The LDG Z-100 seemed the perfect choice as a first time auto-tuner, It was purchased via e-bay and hopefully arrives by the end of the week ready for some weekend QSOs. I'll make the adaptor cable for the IC-718 as soon as I get the Molex connector (or bash a PC power supply connector into shape!)
When I get on the air with it I'll let you know how it goes
